Gotta Get A Danby!
Long story short: Old house, old plumbing, tiny kitchen - gotta get a Danby! we bought this portable dishwasher several years back and it not only still works great, it looks like new. It washes dishes for a family of two like a champ. It IS small, but in our tiny kitchen that was exactly what we needed but, to our surprise, it holds teo or three days worth of dishes. They come out clean pretty much every time. (The exception was baked potatoes au gratin left to dry for two days - we're talking rocks stuck to the pyrex yuck.) The moral of this story is our little Danby is just dandy and works every bit as good as the expensive built-in we had in our last home.

Great little dishwasher!
I've waited 3 months to write this review, so I could put it through real life usage. The little Danby does exactly what it's supposed to do, cleans my dishes! It fits very nicely in my little kitchen, loads easily, moves easily (though, it is heavy) and I have used it every other day for 3 months. Mostly it's a matter of common sense, wipe the dishes, etc. before you put them into the machine and make sure you clean the filters and spray arms. It is simple, a clean machine gives you clean dishes, guess what you'll get with a dirty machine ... dirty dishes! I love my Danby 18 inch dishwasher, and wish I bought one years ago.

Nice unit...
Pros... Very nice... Meets my needs mechanically
Cons... Power cord does not reach the wall outlet... Had to plug it into a Power Strip... The hoses could be longer... I rated it 4 stars because of this....
After waiting 5 weeks for another Brand to arrive only to find out that it would be another 2 & 1/2 months until it would arrive... I ordered this machine... And received it with in 1 week... As there was one available close by...

Perfect solution!
Have had it for 7 months. The size works well for a small household. Had a issue with the rinse agent dispenser leaking. Took the cap off and found it was sticky/gummy around the edge. Cleaned the cap thoroughly and it has been fine since then. The only thing I am not pleased with is the finish on the top. The edges chip easily.

Wait No Longer!
This is the most amazing dishwasher! It is very powerful and cleans better than most full size builtin dishwashers I've had in the past. It is also much quieter than previous 'whisper' dishwashers I've owned. We couldn't be happier with this gem!! Exceeded our expectations!

Fantastic Dishwasher
We have had our Danby for over 11 years now and other than ordering new cutlery baskets (the bottoms seem to melt over time), we have had no issues with it - highly recommend. We are buying one for our daughter and her wife who have one child and one on the way so it will be great for them too as they don't have the room for a built in.

Purchased to replace our old full size portable. It does a GREAT job, uses less water and cleans completely. A little trouble winterizing but we are very satisfied and recommend it.

Our units are designed to fit standard North American faucets.
Try setting the unit to a high temperature. The unit can take up to 2 hours to heat up the cold water depending on the temperature setting.
Check to make sure that the filters and drainage area are not clogged.
